“Nineteenth century Romford- a changing town”
Simon Donoghue from Havering Local Studies Library will be giving an illustrated presentation at St Edward the Confessor Church, Market Place Romford on Saturday 20th November 2021 at 10.30 a.m.
An illustrated look at the development of Romford during a century of change. The presentation includes maps, prints, photographs and ephemera illustrating the old town of the church, market, manor houses, barracks and pubs, and the arrival of the railway, new streets, churches, hospitals, schools, newspapers, the workhouse, fire brigade, police and much else.
